We set off on the Wednesday walk from Tarfside to go up Mudlee Bracks. If you know Glen Esk, you will be aware that there are a lot of tracks, and Tarfside is top of the league. So, although not shown on the challenge map, there is a veritable motorway running right over the top of our hill and back down Glen Tennet. The weather was mostly decent, apart from a hail and snow storm on the summit. I saw a few migrant birds, including sand martin, common sandpiper and wheatear, plus curlew, lapwing, oystercatcher, skylark and buzzard.
