The course takes a direct route up Morven above the ruined cottage of Balhennie. It follows good tracks all the way and is marked with flags. The initial steep section above Balhennie is avoided on the descent by the gentler landrover track which descends diagonally NE to Balhennie from the coll below Roar Hill (ref 395033).
Travelling from Aberdeen, take either the A93 from Aberdeen to Dinnet or the B9119 via Tarland. From Dinnet follow the A97 Huntly road and then the minor road that is signposted to Groddie. The Groddie turn is about 8km from Dinnet.
Registration is at the road end at Groddie.
