As Dave said when he explained the challenge to us, we might get to see some places we didn’t now about. Ashamed to say I didn’t know about this good way marked track and trail until last Tuesday afternoon! Easy even for me to run. Some wind throw trees near the trigpoint but the track has been worked around them .
On way home from 92 we decided that it should be possible to get 88 as well.
Went in via the track at the Birkhall end of the wood and up the marked track, turning right at first junction. At the small quarry there is then a footpath with Walkers Welcome signs all the way to the top.
We then remembered that Bill Donald used to use this as one of our club handicaps many years ago.

Out from the site of our new house plot on a lovely Monday afternoon. Across the three fields and then via the tracks up to the cairn at the top of or Potties Wood as its probably most commonly known. So nice that I then decided to do it three more times by various routes. Then back via one of the best viewpoints on Deeside – Torquhandallochy steading. The only downside was that I tweaked my calf a wee bit late on.
I’ll remember the camera next time.
