The course starts on a good wide track with only a few trees and bushes in the middle, then climbs over the top of Craigmore hill on a narrow path. Having descended most of the way down the other side it then traverses round the north side of the hill on a rather faint path, and climbs back to the summit on frankly no path at all. The return is by the outward route. Mostly the course provides very good running, but not all of it.
Registration and prize giving will be at the Potarch Inn, across the bridge over the River Dee from the A93 just east of Kincardine O’Neil. The cafe will be serving soup, teas, cakes etc so bring some money.
Runners will be required to have a good headtorch, and to carry full body cover, a map and compass (just in case they got lost in the woods at night in the middle of winter). A spare torch is also a really good idea.
If you think you will be coming to the race it would be very helpful if you could register in advance here: register This is free and does not imply any commitment, but will speed up the registration process and give us and the cafe some idea of how many runners there are likely to be. Pay when you collect your number.
